“I want to start cooking more, but I don’t know where to start.” This is what we always hear from so many people, but what they don’t realize is WE have the classes for anyone and everyone. From the person who is just starting cooking, to the experienced cook who wants to learn new skills and recipes, Mrs. Dornberg’s has a class that can help you! Read on through the article from thumbtack.com to figure out if you’re one of those people who need to take a cooking class (Hint, you are!)
Even Julia Child took cooking classes. Whether your souffles win cash prizes, or you’re barely surviving on toast—these seven reasons for learning to cook will change the way you feed yourself.
You Survive on PB&J
Life doesn’t have to be so nutty. Yes, your ninja skills are spectacular—but in the kitchen you’re kind of a disaster. Take back the knife and learn some basic cooking skills. Your tastebuds will thank you.
For Fitness’ Sake
The New Year is dawning, you’re seeing a personal trainer, but you’ve still got a thing for butter and salt. Take a cooking class to prepare healthy food that’s also delicious. Low-calorie doesn’t have to mean cardboard.
To Travel the World
Go global in the kitchen with an Asian cooking class. Cruise the savory coast by experimenting with Mediterranean cuisine. Learn the intricacies of pasta with instruction on cooking Italian food. The sky’s the limit on where your stomach takes you!
Impress a Date
No one wants to be wooed with the promise of dinner only to be served PB&J with the crusts cut off. Seduce in style after you learn badass knife skills that are bound to impress. Or for your honey that has a sweet tooth, take a class on preparing dessert. Now that is smooth.
To Get Rich
Eating out all the time ain’t cheap. Hook yourself up with kitchen skills and save those bills. Maybe you want to master the art of grilling and BBQ, or finally learn how to cook some soups for the winter months. That prepared hot food from the fancy grocer adds up quick when it’s dinner each night.
Up Your Game
Had your eye on beautiful holiday bread you want to bake? Ready to braise meats like a top chef? Indulge yourself and take a class. Way more fun than poring over cookbooks alone at home.

I liked it the most when you shared that having an awesome dinner party is the best reason to learn to cook. I agree since it's always hard to host a dinner party if you only know a very limited recipe to prepare. I think it's best to enroll in a food cooking class since more than being able to cook for a dinner party, cooking is also a very good survival skill.
Yes, cooking is a basic skill EVERYONE should learn! Being able to host an awesome dinner party is a great benefit and a way to practice and “show off” your skills!
