Cooking Class: Sweet and Sour Chicken

Poultry, Recipes

Sweet and Sour Chicken is a take-out favorite that is simple (and healthier!) to make at home!

The sweet comes from sugar, so even though you can cut back on the amount or upgrade to a better choice (i.e. coconut sugar), so this is not something you want to have too often.  If you are diabetic or have a blood sugar issue, it might be better to go with a different dish.

However, most people can include a dish like this occasionally in their diet.  The key when consuming a larger sugar load is to balance it with plenty of high-quality protein, fiber, and healthy fat, which this recipe includes.

Although chicken is used in this video, you can substitute pork or even tofu depending on your needs and preferences.

Serve on a bed of brown rice or cauliflower rice for an even lower carb load.

Enjoy
